Abstract:
The main objective of this project is to analyze, create and interpret the
functioning of hardware and software for the creation and implementation of a
programmable Lego Mindstorms Home Ev3 sumo robot that will allow a unique
robot prototype with efficiency and strength characteristics to compete successfully
in the national Robot Games Zero Latitude® tournament, it is also intended to
strengthen the theoretical and practical knowledge in the area of electronics,
programming at intermediate and advanced levels, benefiting the ISTVN robotics
club in its future participation in robotics tournaments, encouraging interest in
structural design. With this background, the aim is to investigate each of the
components that make up the lego Mindstorms Home Ev3 kit applied in the field of
educational robotics, for this we implemented the construction of a programmable
sumo robot which has its own Ev3 software, which uses a language based on
LabVIEW to program the optimal operation of the robot. The main component of the
robot is the TI Sitara ARM9 AM1808 microcontroller, which is installed in the
intelligent Lego® Ev3 block with the respective program to control the movement of
the robot on the battlefield.

El proyecto de titulación tiene como objetivo central la finalidad de analizar
crear e interpretar el funcionamiento de hardware y software para la creación, puesta
en marcha de un robot Lego Mindstorms Home Ev3 programable de sumo que
permitan obtener un prototipo único de robot con características de eficiencia y
fuerza para competir de manera satisfactoria en el torneo nacional de Robot Games
Zero Latitud®, además se pretende fortalecer los conocimientos teóricos y prácticos
en el área de la electrónica, programación a nivel medio y avanzado beneficiando al
club de robótica del ISTVN en sus futuras participaciones en torneos de robótica,
fomentando el interés en el diseño estructural. Con estos antecedentes se trata de
profundizar e investigar cada uno de los componentes que conforman el kit lego
Mindstorms Home Ev3 aplicados en el campo de la robótica educativa, para esto se
implementó la construcción de un robot programable de sumo el cual tiene su propio
software Ev3, cual utiliza un lenguaje basado en LabVIEW para programar el
funcionamiento óptimo del robot. El componente principal del robot tiene el
microcontrolador TI Sitara ARM9 AM1808 cuyo dispositivo está instalado en el
bloque inteligente de Lego® Ev3 con el respectivo programa para controlar el
movimiento del robot en el campo de batalla.
